640ml の 1 本は 1950 年の 430 円から 1962 年に 300 円へ下がり、洋酒ブームのなか国産品が大衆化した。1974 年に 600 円、1990 年に 1,450 円の最高値まで上がったのち、1998 年には 950 円へ急落する。1989 年の級別廃止に続き、1990 年代後半には輸入品との税の差をなくす酒税改正が進み、国産の中級品も値を下げざるを得なかった。2006 年は 903 円である。
