Background
He joined the company in April 1986 and was posted to Singapore from 2005. He became General Manager of the Business Management Department in the Administration Division in June 2011 and General Manager of Corporate Planning in July 2012, a post he held until April 2015, coming from the planning side. He became an Executive Officer in June 2016 and a Director in June 2017, and in April 2019 also took charge of development as head of the Watch Development Division. He became head of the Sales Division in April 2021 and Managing Director and head of the Watch Business Division in April 2022.

In April 2025 he succeeded Toshihiko Sato as President. In the fiscal year ended March 2025, the year before he took office, net sales were ¥316.8 billion, up from ¥312.8 billion the previous year, while operating income had fallen from ¥25.1 billion to ¥20.6 billion. He was promoted from head of the Watch Business Division after three years as Managing Director, and in contrast to his predecessor from development, his career spanning planning, development, sales and business operations appears to have been valued.

In the fiscal year ended March 2026, his first year in office, consolidated net sales rose about 9.5% from ¥316.8 billion to ¥346.8 billion, and operating income rose about 47% from ¥20.6 billion to ¥30.2 billion. Net income attributable to owners of the parent went from ¥23.8 billion to ¥31.1 billion. Consolidated employees fell by 226, from 12,373 to 12,147.
