1966年に設立された協和油化が起源。
2004年に協和醱酵工業の化学品事業部門を承継し、2015年には台湾中油らとの合弁で曄揚股份有限公司を設立した。オキソ法による溶剤や可塑剤原料などの基礎化学品を主力とする化学メーカーで、売上高は1,151億円。
