1910年に設立された静岡瓦斯が起源。
1973年に静岡・沼津間の高圧幹線「駿河幹線」を完成させ、1996年にマレーシアからLNGを導入して天然ガスへ転換した。
静岡県を地盤とする都市ガス会社で、電力や海外のエネルギー事業も手がける。
