1968年に設立された長大橋設計センタが起源。
1970年に本州四国連絡橋公団からプロジェクトの第1号を受注し、橋梁設計から環境アセスメントや交通計画へ領域を拡大した。長大や基礎地盤コンサルタンツを子会社とする建設コンサルタントの持株会社である。
