Background
He is a career employee who joined Chubu Electric Power in April 1988. He spent many years in thermal power and served as head of the Hekinan Thermal Power Station from April 2016. He moved to the Customer Service and Sales Company in July 2018, and after the April 2020 split served at Chubu Electric Power Miraiz as Director, Executive Officer, head of the Business Strategy Headquarters and head of the Gas Business Headquarters, and from February 2022 as President of group company C-Energy. He returned to head office in April 2024 as a Managing Executive Officer handling alliance promotion in the Corporate Strategy Headquarters. He has no experience in the nuclear division.

On October 1, 2026, he became Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer, and CEO. His predecessor Kingo Hayashi and Representative Director and Chairman Satoru Katsuno had stepped down effective September 30 following the investigation report on the setting of the design basis ground motion for the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station, making this a change tied to clarifying management responsibility. He had joined the board in June that year and was appointed four months later. The chairmanship was left unfilled, leaving the President as the sole Representative Director.
