He joined Toyota Motor in April 1980, became a Managing Officer in June 2007, a Senior Managing Officer in April 2013 and a Director in June that year. In January 2018 he moved to Aisin Seiki as Executive Vice President and Executive Officer, and became President half a year later, in June. Initiatives
In April 2021 the company absorbed Aisin AW through a merger and unified its name as Aisin Corporation. During his tenure, consolidated net sales fell from ¥4,043.1 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2019 to ¥3,525.8 billion in the FY ended March 2021, and operating income went from ¥205.6 billion to ¥145.3 billion. In between, in the FY ended March 2020, operating income dropped to ¥56.1 billion and net income to ¥24.1 billion.
