In June 2009 he succeeded Yasuhito Yamauchi as President. In the fiscal year ended March 2010, his first year, consolidated net sales were ¥2,054.5 billion, operating income ¥87.5 billion and net income ¥16.6 billion, back in the black from the previous year's operating loss of ¥3.5 billion.
