Background
He joined the company in April 1988. He became a Director of the core operating company Nisshin Flour Milling in June 2013, then an Executive Officer of the parent in June 2016, a Director in June 2017 and Managing Executive Officer in June 2019. It took 34 years from joining to the presidency, and five years from joining the parent's board. Like his predecessor Nobuki Kenmoku, he followed the path from officer of the operating company to officer of the holding company.

In June 2022 he succeeded Nobuki Kenmoku as President. In the fiscal year ended March 2022, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥679.7 billion and operating profit ¥29.4 billion, roughly flat from ¥679.4 billion and ¥27.2 billion the previous year. In his first year, FY ended March 2023, an impairment at Australia's Allied Pinnacle turned net income of ¥17.5 billion into a net loss of ¥10.3 billion. He took on, in his first year, the cleanup of an acquisition decided jointly with his predecessor.

After posting a net loss of ¥10.3 billion in FY ended March 2023 from the impairment of the Australian business, results recovered in FY ended March 2024 to consolidated net sales of ¥858.2 billion, operating profit of ¥47.8 billion and net income of ¥31.7 billion. In his final year, FY ended March 2026, net sales were ¥865.0 billion and operating profit ¥46.7 billion. Compared with FY ended March 2022, before he took office, net sales rose 27% and operating profit 59%, and the operating margin rose from 4.3% to 5.4%.
