Selection

In 1972 he succeeded Tatsuo Iwatsuki as President. In the fiscal year ended December 1971, the year before, net sales were ¥113.4 billion and ordinary income ¥10.6 billion, and in his first year, FY ended December 1972, sales grew to ¥126.2 billion. Overseas, the company had just set up its first subsidiary in the United States in March 1971, and at home it was in the midst of adding mass-production sites in Nishi-Mikawa. The appointment appears to have handed him the expanded production and overseas development.

Initiatives

In June 1974 he built Takatana Works in Anjo City, further expanding the Nishi-Mikawa production base. Sales of heating and cooling equipment, including car air conditioners, reached ¥77.0 billion in fiscal 1975, overtaking the ¥74.1 billion of electrical components. Ordinary income fell from ¥13.6 billion to ¥9.1 billion in the fiscal year ended December 1974, but recovered to ¥17.8 billion in FY ended December 1975 and ¥29.4 billion in FY ended December 1976.
