Background
He joined Showa Denko in April 1975 and became an Executive Officer in January 2006. He became a Director in March 2008 and Director and Managing Executive Officer in January 2010, and President the following January, 2011. It took 31 years from joining to Executive Officer and 36 to the presidency. Whereas his predecessor Kyohei Takahashi had served as president or executive vice president of two affiliates, Hideo Ichikawa's posts were all at the parent company.
