Background

He is the founder, who established Manpower Center in February 1976 and became its Senior Managing Director. He became Representative Director in April 1991, Representative Director of Temporary Sunrise (now Pasona) in March 1992, Representative Director and President of Pasona in April 1999 and Representative Director and Group CEO in June 2000, consistently leading the group. Among major shareholders in the fiscal year ended May 2008, he ranked first with 33.99%, and Nambu Enterprise held 8.22%.

Selection

In August 2004 he became Representative Director, Group CEO, President and head of the sales headquarters, the company's first President. In the fiscal year ended May 2004, the year before he took office, non-consolidated net sales were ¥119.1 billion, ordinary profit ¥5.3 billion and net income ¥2.8 billion. Twenty-eight years after founding the business in February 1976, he took on as President the business he had led all along. In December 2007 he became Representative Director, Group CEO, President and CEO.

Initiatives

The company moved to consolidated reporting from the fiscal year ended May 2012, and net sales grew from ¥181.5 billion to ¥366.1 billion in FY ended May 2022, and operating profit from ¥2.0 billion to ¥22.1 billion. In FY ended May 2024 it posted net income of ¥95.9 billion, up ¥89.8 billion from ¥6.1 billion the previous year. In FY ended May 2025 net sales were ¥309.2 billion, with an operating loss of ¥1.2 billion and a net loss of ¥8.7 billion. In June of that year he handed the presidency to Hirotaka Wakamoto.
