He joined Daiwa Securities Group in April 1979, becoming Managing Executive Officer in May 2004 and Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2004. He became Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in April 2007 and Director and Deputy President in April 2009, and became Director, Representative Executive Officer, President and CEO in April 2011, in his 32nd year with the company. In April 2011 he succeeded Shigeharu Suzuki as Director, Representative Executive Officer, President and CEO, promoted after two years as Director and Deputy President from April 2009.
