Background
He joined Accenture in May 1998 and moved to EY Strategy and Consulting in October 2002. He joined Kakaku.com mid-career in October 2004, became Executive Officer heading the Tabelog division in April 2009 and Director in June 2012. It was not a change entrusting him with a turnaround; his record running the core business as head of the Tabelog division appears to have been the reason for the succession.

In the FY ended March 2026 revenue rose 20% in one year to ¥94.1 billion, while operating income fell to ¥27.2 billion and net income to ¥18.8 billion. The operating margin dropped from 37% in the FY ended March 2025 to 29% in the FY ended March 2026.
