He joined Japan Tobacco in April 1999 and moved to Kakaku.com in December 2001, before its 2003 listing on the TSE Mothers market. He advanced to Executive Officer in July 2005 and Director in June 2006, also serving as a director of eiga.com from April 2007. It took him ten years from joining the board to reach the presidency.

In June 2016 he succeeded Minoru Tanaka as president. The promotion came 15 years after he joined in December 2001 and ten years after he joined the board in June 2006. In the fiscal year ended March 2016, the year before he took office, consolidated revenue was ¥41.3 billion and operating income ¥19.5 billion, an operating margin of 47%. Consolidated revenue had grown 1.4-fold from ¥29.8 billion two years earlier in the FY ended March 2014. The change was not prompted by deteriorating results.

Over his eight years in office, consolidated revenue rose from ¥41.3 billion in the FY ended March 2016 to ¥66.9 billion in the FY ended March 2024, and operating income from ¥19.5 billion to ¥25.8 billion. After reaching revenue of ¥61.0 billion and operating income of ¥27.2 billion in the FY ended March 2020, the figures fell to ¥51.1 billion and ¥18.3 billion in the FY ended March 2021, with operating income dropping below the ¥19.5 billion of the year before he took office. Revenue and operating income recovered to ¥66.9 billion and ¥25.8 billion in the FY ended March 2024, but he stepped down with operating income still short of the ¥27.2 billion of the FY ended March 2020.
