Background
At Meiji, which runs the food business under Meiji Holdings, he became an Executive Officer in June 2012, Managing Executive Officer in June 2015 and Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in June 2017, and was appointed its Representative Director and President in June 2018. In the same month he also became a Director of the holding company Meiji Holdings, and from June 2020 served as Executive Officer and COO in charge of the food segment. After serving as President of the operating company, he led execution of the entire food segment at the holding company.

In June 2025 he succeeded Kazuo Kawamura as Representative Director and President. In the fiscal year ended March 2025, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥1,154.0 billion and operating profit ¥84.7 billion, both above the previous year. Net income, however, was only ¥50.8 billion, below the ¥69.4 billion of FY ended March 2023 for the second straight year. A person who had served as COO of the food segment for five years took the top post at the holding company.
Initiatives
In his first year, the fiscal year ended March 2026, consolidated net sales were ¥1,173.7 billion and operating profit ¥93.3 billion, both exceeding the previous year's ¥1,154.0 billion and ¥84.7 billion. Net income, however, was ¥35.1 billion, down ¥15.7 billion from ¥50.8 billion the previous year.
