He joined Nippon Express in April 1978 and built his career in finance, including posts as head of finance and head of accounting at Nippon Express U.S.A. He became an Executive Officer in May 2009, Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2012, and Representative Director and Executive Vice President in May 2014.

Initiatives

In January 2022 the group moved to a holding company structure, and he became Representative Director and President of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS. In 2023 it acquired the Austrian logistics company cargo-partner for about ¥126.7 billion, gaining a footprint in Europe and Central and Eastern Europe. Consolidated revenue, ¥1,864.3 billion in the year before his appointment, rose to ¥2,079.2 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2021.
