He joined Nippon Express in April 1983 and became an Executive Officer 32 years later, in May 2015. He rose to Director and Executive Officer in May 2018 and Representative Director and Executive Vice President in June 2020, and with the shift to a holding company structure became Representative Director and Executive Vice President of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS in January 2022. In the fiscal year ended December 2025, the major shareholders were corporate, led by The Master Trust Bank of Japan at 14.7%, Asahi Mutual Life Insurance at 6.9% and Custody Bank of Japan at 5.4%, with no individuals in the top ten.

Initiatives

In 2023 the company sued Accenture over a failed core system development project, seeking ¥12.4 billion in damages. While deciding to acquire the Canadian logistics major Metro Supply Chain Group, it pressed ahead with shrinking its asset base. Consolidated revenue fell to ¥2,239.0 billion and operating profit to ¥60.1 billion in the fiscal year ended December 2023; revenue recovered to ¥2,574.8 billion in the FY ended December 2025, but operating profit was only ¥51.5 billion and net income ¥2.6 billion.
