A career employee who joined Keio Corporation in April 1980, he worked only for the company until stepping down as President. He became a Director in June 2010, Managing Director in June 2012 and Representative Director and Executive Vice President in June 2015, and became President 36 years after joining. Keio's major shareholders are led by life insurers, Nippon Life Insurance with 6.99%, Dai-ichi Life Insurance with 4.94% and Taiyo Life Insurance with 4.56%, with no founding family name in the top ten.

Revenue kept growing after he took office, and in the fiscal year ended March 2019 consolidated revenue was ¥447.5 billion, operating income ¥40.1 billion and net income ¥27.2 billion, above the ¥416.2 billion, ¥37.8 billion and ¥19.4 billion of the year before he took office. In the fiscal year ended March 2021, hit by the spread of COVID-19, the company fell into the red with revenue of ¥315.4 billion, an operating loss of ¥20.9 billion and a net loss of ¥27.5 billion. In his final year, the fiscal year ended March 2022, it returned to the black with operating income of ¥0.7 billion and net income of ¥5.5 billion, but revenue of ¥299.8 billion was only 70% of the level in the year before he took office.
