Selection

In June 1991 he succeeded Kazuo Suzuki, who had been President for ten years from February 1981, as Representative Director and President. His time as Executive Vice President, as Director and then Representative Director, totaled two years and two months, roughly the same as his predecessor's two years and six months. In the fiscal year ended March 1992, his first year, consolidated net sales were ¥1,174.9 billion and net income ¥37.3 billion. His promotion appears to have followed the same route as his predecessor's.

Over his nine years in office, consolidated net sales grew by ¥62.1 billion, from ¥1,174.9 billion in the fiscal year ended March 1992 to ¥1,237.0 billion in the FY ended March 2000. Net income fell to ¥15.8 billion in the FY ended March 1995 and recovered to ¥47.3 billion in the FY ended March 1998.
