He joined Advantest in 1999, became an Executive Officer in June 2006, a Director in June 2013 and Senior Executive Officer in June 2016, and Representative Director, President and CEO in January 2017. He took the top post 18 years after joining, a president who came up through sales.

Fujitsu had been the largest shareholder since taking a stake in February 1976 and held 28.00% at the time of listing. In 2017, during his tenure, Fujitsu sold all its shares, ending a capital relationship of about 40 years. With semiconductor miniaturization and expanding production in Taiwan, China and South Korea, the company set what was then a record net income attributable to owners of the parent of ¥130.4 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2023.
