Background
He joined the company in April 1983, became head of the Media Promotion Bureau in Fuji Television Network's General Media Development unit in June 2012 and head of the General Development Bureau in June 2013. He became an Executive Officer in June 2014 and Executive Officer, Managing Director and head of the Corporate Planning Bureau in July 2017, then a Director in June 2019, Managing Director in June 2021 and Senior Managing Director of the holding company in June 2022. His career passed through both the development unit that sells program rights and corporate planning, which builds business plans.
Selection
He became Representative Director and President of Fuji Television Network in January 2025, and in June that year became President of the holding company, succeeding Osamu Kanemitsu. In the fiscal year before he took office, ended March 2025, consolidated revenue was ¥550.8 billion and operating income ¥18.3 billion, against a net loss of ¥20.1 billion. Having taken on the presidency of the operating company half a year earlier, he went on to hold the holding company presidency as well.
Initiatives
In June 2025 he replaced the board of directors, forming it from members who took office at around the same time. In the fiscal year ended March 2026, consolidated revenue was ¥551.9 billion with an operating loss of ¥8.8 billion, as the Media and Content business posted an operating loss of ¥30.8 billion. In the same year the Urban Development and Tourism business recorded revenue of ¥192.9 billion and segment profit of ¥25.2 billion.
