Background
He joined the company in April 1983, became head of the Corporate Planning Bureau at Fuji Television Network in June 2009 and head of the holding company's Corporate Planning Bureau in June 2011. He became an Executive Officer in June 2012, Managing Director in June 2013 and Senior Managing Director in June 2015. From June 2017 he has served as Senior Managing Director of Fuji Television Network. His career ran not through program production or scheduling but through business planning and subsidiary management.

In June 2019 he became President, succeeding Masaki Miyauchi. In the fiscal year before he took office, ended March 2019, consolidated revenue was ¥669.2 billion and operating income ¥34.7 billion, revenue up from ¥646.5 billion the year before. An officer who had served in corporate planning all the way from head of the Corporate Planning Bureau to Senior Managing Director moved straight to the top. His tenure lasted six years, until June 2025.
Initiatives
Consolidated revenue fell from ¥631.5 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2020 to ¥519.9 billion in FY ended March 2021. It has since moved in the ¥520 billion to ¥560 billion range and has not returned to the ¥600 billion level of before he took office. In FY ended March 2025, the year he stepped down, the company kept operating income of ¥18.3 billion but swung to a net loss of ¥20.1 billion.
