Background
He joined the company in April 1972 and came up through accounting, becoming head of the Accounting Bureau in the Corporate Management Division in June 1999. He became a Director in June 2001 and Managing Director in June 2006, then served as Managing Director of Fuji Television Network from October 2008 and its Senior Managing Director from June 2011. He became Director and Executive Vice President of Fuji Media Holdings in June 2013 and was promoted to President two years later.

In the fiscal year before he took office, ended March 2015, consolidated revenue was ¥643.3 billion, operating income ¥25.6 billion and net income ¥19.9 billion, revenue having stayed in the ¥630 billion to ¥640 billion range for three straight years from ¥632.0 billion in FY ended March 2013. He was promoted from Director and Executive Vice President.

In June 2017 he stepped down as President and became Representative Director and Chairman of Fuji Television Network.
