Background
He joined Sekisui Chemical in April 1987. In April 2015 he became an Executive Officer and General Manager of the Foam Division in the High Performance Plastics Company, and in January 2019 served as Managing Executive Officer and President of that company. He became Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2019 and Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in April 2021, and in January 2025, as Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, also headed the Corporate Strategy Department. He is a career employee from the high performance plastics side.

In the fiscal year ended March 2025, the year before he took office, net sales were ¥1,297.8 billion, operating income ¥108.0 billion and net income ¥81.9 billion, up from ¥1,256.5 billion, ¥94.4 billion and ¥77.9 billion the year before. His predecessor had also risen to President from Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, and he followed the same path.
