He graduated from the Department of Applied Chemistry in the School of Science and Engineering at Waseda University in March 1923. At Denki Kagaku Kogyo he became a Director in December 1948, Managing Director in December 1949, Senior Managing Director in November 1956 and Representative Director and Executive Vice President in May 1960. The 1961 edition's officer listing shows him as one of only two Representative Directors alongside President Yosoichi Nomura, and he spent seven years as Executive Vice President.

As of March 1970, the major shareholders were led by life insurers and banks such as Mitsui Life, Nippon Kangyo Bank and Asahi Life, with no individuals among them.
