Background
In August 1985 the yakitori restaurant Toridoll Sanbankan opened, and in June 1990 he established Toridoll Corporation as a limited company and became its Representative Director and President. He has remained President since its conversion to a stock company, Toridoll, in October 1995. As of the FY ended March 2026, he himself holds 31.38% of the issued shares and T&T Ltd. 12.10%, the top two major shareholders.
Selection
He is the first president, with no predecessor. He became Representative Director and President at the company's incorporation in June 1990, and the presidency has not changed hands in the 36 years since. He has remained Representative Director and President since the move to a holding company structure in 2016.
Initiatives
In 2000 he opened the first Marugame Seimen sanuki udon restaurant. In 2016 the company moved to a holding company structure and pursued a multi-brand strategy through repeated acquisitions of other restaurant formats. In 2023 it made Britain's Fulham Shore a subsidiary, expanding into Europe. Consolidated net sales grew from ¥48.8 billion in the FY ended March 2011 to ¥278.7 billion in the FY ended March 2026, and the operating loss of ¥7.3 billion in the FY ended March 2021 turned into a ¥14.2 billion profit the following year.
