Background

She joined Boston Consulting Group in April 2007 and moved to GE Healthcare Japan in April 2010. She joined MonotaRO in March 2020, becoming Executive Officer in March 2022 and Managing Executive Officer, head of supply chain management and head of the BPM promotion office in March 2023. A mid-career hire by way of consulting and medical equipment, she had been with the company only three years and ten months before becoming president.

In January 2024 she succeeded Masaya Suzuki as Representative Executive Officer and President, becoming Director, Representative Executive Officer and President that March. She was promoted from Managing Executive Officer and head of supply chain management, ten months after becoming managing executive officer. In the fiscal year ended December 2023, the year before she took office, consolidated net sales were ¥254.3 billion and operating income ¥31.3 billion, up in both from ¥226.0 billion and ¥26.2 billion the previous year. The change placed the officer in charge of logistics and operational improvement in the presidency amid continued sales growth.

Initiatives

In the two years after she took office, sales and profit kept growing: consolidated net sales of ¥288.1 billion and operating income of ¥37.1 billion in the FY ended December 2024, and net sales of ¥333.9 billion and operating income of ¥46.2 billion in the FY ended December 2025. In the FY ended December 2025 the major shareholder GRAINGER GLOBAL HOLDINGS held 50.33%, continuing a capital structure in which the holding company of Grainger of the U.S. controls a majority of the voting rights.
