Background

He joined Nitto Boseki in April 1974 and moved to Sun System in April 1979. After nine years at the two companies, in March 1983 he founded Henmi Engineering Co., Ltd. in Yokohama with capital of ¥2 million and became its Representative Director and President. The company was set up to develop microcomputer software, and in February 1984 it changed its name to System Pro Co., Ltd.

Selection

In April 2010 he returned as Representative Director and President, replacing Kenji Miura. It was one year and three months after he had become Representative Director and Chairman in January 2009, and Miura moved to Representative Director and Executive Vice President that month. The change came after the company signed a merger agreement with Katena Corporation the previous December and shifted its fiscal year-end to March 31 in January 2010. The appointment appears to have brought the founder back to carry out a merger that would change the company's scale by a step.

Initiatives

In August 2002 he listed the company's shares on the Osaka Securities Exchange's Nasdaq Japan market, and in October 2005 it moved to the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In the FY ended October 2006 he raised the dividend policy's payout ratio target from 30% to 40%. In April 2010 the company absorbed Katena Corporation in a merger and renamed itself SysPro Katena Corporation, then Systena Corporation that July. Consolidated net sales were ¥39.2 billion in the FY ended March 2011 and ¥42.7 billion in the FY ended March 2016.
