Background
He joined Yoshinoya in June 1988. He served as General Manager in charge of sales management in the Sales Department of group company Pot and Pot Co., Ltd. (now Starting Over Co., Ltd.) from March 2001, as Executive Officer and Representative Director and President of Senkichi Co., Ltd. from October 2007, and became Representative Director and President of Hanamaru Co., Ltd. in September 2012. He also became a board member of Yoshinoya (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in June 2015 and CEO of ASIA YOSHINOYA INTERNATIONAL SDN. BHD. in January 2018, taking charge of overseas business as well.

In May 2025 he succeeded Yasutaka Kawamura as Representative Director and President; Kawamura became Chairman the same month. In the fiscal year ended February 2025, the year before he took over, consolidated net sales were ¥205.0 billion and operating income ¥7.3 billion, sales having risen for three straight years from ¥153.6 billion in the FY ended February 2022. He had served as Director and head of the Southeast Asia and China Division from March 2021 and head of the Asia Division from March 2023, so the appointment drew on an executive who had run the overseas business.

Since becoming President he has continued to serve as CEO of ASIA YOSHINOYA INTERNATIONAL SDN. BHD. and Chairman of Yoshinoya (China) Investment Co., Ltd. In the FY ended February 2026, his first full year, consolidated net sales were ¥225.7 billion, operating income ¥8.1 billion and net income ¥4.7 billion, up in both sales and profit from ¥205.0 billion, ¥7.3 billion and ¥3.8 billion the previous year.
