Background

He joined Fukui Shoji in April 1964, opened Suda Shoten in April 1966 and Suda Fudosan in February 1976. In September 1978 he founded Yasuragi in Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture, with capital of ¥10 million for the stone business, and became Representative Director and President. Incorporating his sole proprietorship was itself the founding, and his only time working for another company was about two years at Fukui Shoji. He held 3,794,900 shares at the end of the fiscal year ended January 2007, giving him the backing of capital as founder.

Education: Kiryu Municipal Commercial High School (1964)

Selection

There was no predecessor; he became Representative Director and President when the company was founded in September 1978. Begun as a stone business, the company obtained a real estate brokerage license in December 1988 and entered real estate trading and agency, began selling detached houses in January 1989 and started leasing property in February 1990. In the board list at the end of the fiscal year ended January 2007, against Suda's 3,794,900 shares, the largest holding by any other director was 1,623,500. With both the choice of business and the shares concentrated in one person, there appears never to have been an occasion for a decision to replace the President.

Initiatives

In August 1998, following a revision of the Civil Execution Act, he established a used-home renovation business that bought foreclosed properties at auction and sold them after renovation. Starting with the Takasaki branch in March 1999, the store network expanded to 120 locations as of January 20, 2008. The company set up Property in October 2003 and YUTORI Servicer in August 2004, and listed on the Nagoya Stock Exchange's Centrex market in February 2004. Consolidated revenue reached ¥76.0 billion in the fiscal year ended January 2007 but fell to ¥53.7 billion with a net loss of ¥1.6 billion in the fiscal year ended January 2008. He became Chairman in April 2008.
