Background
He joined Mitsubishi Estate in April 1982. He served as Executive Officer and General Manager of the Building Asset Operations Department from April 2012 and Managing Executive Officer from April 2014, and became Director and Executive Officer and Managing Director in June 2016. He became Director, Executive Officer and President in April 2017. In the fiscal year ended March 2015, before he took office, the major shareholders were trust banks and life insurers: The Master Trust Bank of Japan with 6.11%, Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance with 3.37% and Japan Trustee Services Bank with 3.32%.

He became President in April 2017 as his predecessor Hirotaka Sugiyama moved to Chairman. In the fiscal year ended March 2017, the year before he took office, consolidated revenue was ¥1,125.4 billion and operating income ¥192.5 billion. In an interview soon after taking office, he set the goal of building a company that could reliably earn ¥200 billion in operating income however the social environment changed, and spoke of the need to broaden its business mix.
Initiatives
In 2020 he drew up the Long-Term Management Plan 2030. It set strengthening the earnings base of the Marunouchi business alongside expanding overseas operations, with targets of ¥350-400 billion in business profit and 10% ROE in fiscal 2030. Tokiwabashi Tower was completed in 2021, extending redevelopment around Tokyo Station beyond Marunouchi and Otemachi to Tokiwabashi.
