Background
He joined Mitsubishi Estate in April 1974. He became an Executive Officer in April 2004 and Managing Executive Officer in April 2007, joining the board in June that year. He became Director and Senior Executive Officer in April 2010 and was appointed President in April 2011. In the fiscal year ended March 2010, the year before he took office, the major shareholders were trust banks at the top: The Master Trust Bank of Japan with 6.16%, Japan Trustee Services Bank with 4.31%, followed by Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance with 3.77%.

The handover came just after Mitsubishi Estate Residence was launched in January that year and work had begun on building residential sales into a source of earnings second only to office leasing.
Initiatives
Otemachi Financial City was completed in 2012. Redevelopment that had been concentrated in Marunouchi spread to Otemachi, leading to the wide-area development around Tokyo Station that continued through Tokiwabashi Tower in 2021. In housing, the company promoted "The Parkhouse", the condominium brand unified in 2011, and he spent his six years in office running the twin businesses of office leasing and residential sales.
