Background
He joined in July 1986 and became a Director five years later in April 1991 and Managing Director in April 1995. He became Representative Director and Executive Vice President in June 2004 and President the following April 2005. In the fiscal year ended March 2006, just after he took office, the top ten shareholders included Aoi Fudosan with 1.63% and Tadao Aoi with 1.52%, and in the FY ended March 2010 Aoi Fudosan with 1.88% and Tadao Aoi with 1.65% were still there.

In April 2005 he rose from Representative Director and Executive Vice President to Representative Director and President. He entered the officer ranks quickly, becoming a Director in April 1991, five years after joining, and Managing Director in April 1995, after nine, and became President in his 19th year at the company. In the fiscal year ended March 2005, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥434.1 billion, operating profit ¥36.8 billion and net income ¥19.1 billion. He also became Representative Executive Officer in October 2006 and CEO in April 2019.
Initiatives
In 2006 the company switched to its own EPOS Card, shifting earnings from consumer credit, which was shrinking under the revised Money Lending Business Act, toward card payments and transaction volume. From 2015 it dropped department-store-style consignment purchasing and moved its stores to leasing space to tenants under fixed-term leases. Consolidated net sales fell from ¥404.9 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2015 to ¥245.8 billion in the FY ended March 2016, while operating profit rose from ¥28.0 billion to ¥29.6 billion. In the FY ended March 2026 net sales were ¥276.9 billion and operating profit ¥50.2 billion.
