Background
He joined Fuji Bank in April 1987 and eight years later, in March 1995, joined Dai Nippon Printing. He became a Director in June 2001, Managing Director in June 2003 and Senior Managing Director in June 2005, and served for nine years from June 2009 as Representative Director and Executive Vice President. The top ten shareholders in the fiscal year ended March 2015 were all trust banks, life insurers and banks, with no individuals among them.

In June 2018 he succeeded Yoshitoshi Kitajima as Representative Director and President. In the fiscal year ended March 2018, the year before he took office, consolidated sales were ¥1,412.2 billion, operating income ¥46.4 billion and net income ¥27.5 billion, with sales remaining in the ¥1.41 trillion range for two straight years after ¥1,455.9 billion in the FY ended March 2016. Operating income was also recovering after falling to ¥31.4 billion in the FY ended March 2017.
Initiatives
In 2023 he redefined the company's basic management policy and committed to about ¥300 billion in share buybacks over five years. Consolidated operating income grew from ¥49.9 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2019, his first year, to ¥93.6 billion in the FY ended March 2025, and sales from ¥1,401.5 billion to ¥1,457.6 billion. Consolidated employees fell from 38,627 in the FY ended March 2018 to 36,911 in the FY ended March 2024. In the FY ended March 2019, the year after he took office, the company posted a net loss of ¥35.6 billion.
