Background
He joined in April 2004 and from March 2020 led the Control Systems Division as its General Manager. In June 2021 he also became General Manager of Business Promotion, and in June 2023 he joined the board. From December 2023 he oversaw overseas business as Director and General Manager of the Overseas Business Enhancement Department. It took him 21 years from joining to become President, and his career was confined to the domestic control systems business and overseas business.
Selection
In December 2025 he succeeded Tamotsu Nakata as Representative Director and President, two and a half years after joining the board and two years after taking charge of overseas business enhancement. In the fiscal year ended March 2025, the year before he took office, net sales were ¥1,059.1 billion and operating income ¥549.8 billion, up from ¥967.2 billion and ¥495.0 billion the previous year. The change appears not to have been prompted by any need for a turnaround.
Initiatives
In the fiscal year ended March 2026, the first closed after he took office, net sales were ¥1,169.3 billion, operating income ¥595.8 billion and net income ¥445.2 billion, all above the previous year's ¥1,059.1 billion, ¥549.8 billion and ¥398.6 billion. With only one year of his tenure completed, no decision that could be written up as an initiative has yet been announced.
