Background
He joined Nitto Boseki in April 1985 and, after serving as General Manager of Procurement in the Corporate Planning and Administration Headquarters and General Manager of Corporate Planning, became manager of both the Osaka and Nagoya branches in April 2013. He became head of the Fiber Headquarters in the Fiber Division in December 2016 and head of that division as an Executive Officer in April 2017; by October 2018 his title was head of the Glass Fiber Division. In April 2020, as Managing Executive Officer, he took charge of company-wide administration and headed the Corporate Planning and Administration Headquarters, and in April 2023 became Representative Executive Officer and Senior Managing Executive Officer.
Selection
In April 2024 Yuichi Tsuji moved to Representative Executive Officer and Chairman, and Hiroyuki Tada became Representative Executive Officer and President. Since April 2023 he had been in charge of company-wide administration and the Fiber Division as Representative Executive Officer and Senior Managing Executive Officer, while also heading the Corporate Planning and Administration Headquarters. In the FY ended March 2024, consolidated net sales were ¥93.3 billion and operating income ¥8.4 billion, up from ¥4.9 billion the year before. The appointment appears to have put a senior managing officer with experience in both administration and operations in the presidency, dividing roles with his predecessor, who stepped back to Chairman.
Initiatives
In May 2024, the month after taking office, he announced a mid-term management plan for fiscal 2024 to 2027. It called for about ¥80.0 billion of investment over four years and set a target of ¥20.0 billion in operating income in the final year. Responding to demand for server substrates for generative AI, in October 2025 the company decided to invest ¥15.0 billion in a new glass cloth building at the Fukushima Plant. In November 2025 it sold land in Yaesu, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, to Sumitomo Realty & Development, booking a ¥34.1 billion gain on the sale. Consolidated operating income rose from ¥8.4 billion in the FY ended March 2024 to ¥20.8 billion in the FY ended March 2026, exceeding the target in the plan's second year.
