Background
He joined Royal in April 1993. In November 2009 he moved to Centresta (now Royal Contract Service) as General Manager of Operations, rising there to General Manager of Business Planning in January 2016, General Manager of Greater Tokyo Sales in December 2017, and Director and head of Sales in April 2018, before becoming its Representative Director and President in March 2019. He spent more than 12 years at this subsidiary before becoming President of the parent.
Selection
He returned to the parent in April 2021 as Executive Officer and Deputy Head of the Joint Project Office, and 11 months later, in March 2022, succeeded Yasuhiro Kurosu as Representative Director and President. In the year ended December 2021, the year before he took office, net sales were ¥79.9 billion with an operating loss of ¥7.4 billion and a net loss of ¥2.9 billion, a second straight year in the red after an operating loss of ¥19.3 billion and a net loss of ¥27.5 billion in the year ended December 2020. It was an appointment that took him from subsidiary president to the top after just one year as an Executive Officer of the parent.
Initiatives
In his first year, the year ended December 2022, net sales were ¥104.0 billion, operating profit ¥2.2 billion and net income ¥2.8 billion, returning to profit after two years of losses. Sales continued to grow to ¥138.9 billion in the year ended December 2023, ¥152.2 billion in 2024 and ¥165.5 billion in 2025, and operating profit recovered to ¥7.7 billion.
