He joined Fuji Heavy Industries (now Subaru) in April 1977 and became an Executive Officer in April 2005. He rose to Managing Executive Officer in June 2007 and Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in June 2009, and became Representative Director and President in June 2011. A career employee, he spent 34 years at the company from joining to becoming President.
