Background
He joined Showa Musen Kogyo in December 1973 and became Representative Director and President of Meiko in November 1975. He has served as President ever since, including the transition to Representative Director, President and Executive Officer in June 2006. In the fiscal year ended March 2010 he was the largest shareholder with 24.2%, followed by Meia Kosan with 3.13%, Yuho Ltd. with 2.69%, Jun Naya with 2.51% and Koichi Naya with 1.94%. His control as founder is backed by ownership.
Selection
As the first President, with no predecessor, he has led the company since its founding in November 1975. He became Representative Director, President and Executive Officer in June 2006 and continued as President under the executive officer system. In the fiscal year ended March 2006, at the time of the transition, consolidated net sales were ¥50.3 billion and operating income ¥6.5 billion, up 1.7 times in two years from ¥29.2 billion in the FY ended March 2004. During a period of expansion he distributed executive authority to officers while keeping the presidency himself.
Initiatives
The company moved from specializing in double-sided boards to multilayer printed wiring boards and shifted manufacturing to overseas production based in Hong Kong and Guangdong Province, China. In 2008 it took over Victor Company of Japan's circuit business, adding growth from outside. Consolidated net sales grew from ¥50.3 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2006 to ¥240.6 billion in the FY ended March 2026, and operating income from ¥6.5 billion to ¥24.6 billion.
