Background
He joined Oki Electric Industry in April 1988. In November 2006 he became manager of partner sales in Oki Data's domestic sales headquarters, and went on through sales posts as head of marketing, deputy head of domestic sales and head of the office printing division. He became a director of Oki Data in October 2017, Managing Executive Officer and head of the products business in April 2019, and its Representative Director and President in April 2020. At the parent he became Executive Officer in April 2020 and in April 2021 headed the business collaboration promotion unit in the Component & Platform Business Group.
Selection
In April 2022 he succeeded Shinya Kamagami as President, Executive Officer and COO, becoming Representative Director, President and Executive Officer in June that year. Without passing through the parent's board, he rose to President two years after becoming Executive Officer in April 2020. In the fiscal year ended March 2022, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥352.1 billion and operating income ¥5.9 billion, down from ¥457.2 billion and ¥16.8 billion in the FY ended March 2020. His predecessor Kamagami kept the CEO role for a year as Chairman.

In the fiscal year ended March 2023, his first year, consolidated net sales were only ¥369.1 billion and operating income ¥2.4 billion, with a net loss of ¥2.8 billion. He took over as CEO in April 2023, holding both the presidency and the CEO role. In the FY ended March 2024 net sales were ¥421.9 billion and operating income ¥18.7 billion, and in the FY ended March 2026 net sales were ¥421.6 billion, operating income ¥18.8 billion and net income ¥21.5 billion, exceeding the levels of the year before he took office.
