Background

Starting his career at Nomura Research Institute and gaining experience managing systems companies, he joined BayCurrent Consulting in September 2008. He became Executive Officer in November 2008, two months after joining, and a Director in May 2015. A mid-career hire involved in neither the founding nor the buyout, he is absent from the top ten shareholders for the fiscal year ended February 2026, where founder Shin Eguchi holds 5.31% and his predecessor Kazumi Hagihira 1.93%.

Selection

In December 2016 he succeeded Kazumi Hagihira as Representative Director and President, shortly after the listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market on September 2 that year. In the fiscal year ended February 2016, the year before he took office, net sales were ¥15.8 billion and operating income ¥2.7 billion; in the FY ended February 2017 net sales grew to ¥17.2 billion while operating income fell to ¥2.3 billion. His predecessor had been brought in from outside, and Abe was promoted eight years after joining in 2008.

Initiatives

After he took office, net sales rose from ¥17.2 billion in the fiscal year ended February 2017 to ¥116.1 billion in the FY ended February 2025, and operating income from ¥2.3 billion to ¥42.6 billion. Consultants grew from 1,194 at the end of the FY ended February 2017 to 4,321 at the end of the FY ended February 2024. The company moved to the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in December 2018 and to the Prime Market in April 2022. In September 2024 it adopted a holding company structure, separating consulting and IT services into different companies. After handing the presidency to Daisuke Kitakaze in May 2025, he returned in November that year as Representative Director, Chairman and President.
