Background
He joined Fujitsu in April 1987 and moved to Oracle Japan in May 1995. He became Executive Officer in August 2000, Managing Executive Officer in June 2006, Senior Managing Executive Officer in June 2011 and Executive Vice President in December 2014. In July 2016 he moved to IBM Japan as Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, and four years and three months later, in October 2020, he returned to Oracle Japan as Senior Vice President.

In December 2020 he became Executive Officer and President, succeeding Kenneth Johansen. It was two months after his return to Oracle Japan, and in August 2021 he also became Director, Executive Officer and President. In the fiscal year before he took office, ended May 2020, revenue was ¥211.4 billion, operating income ¥68.9 billion and net income ¥47.7 billion, with both revenue and profit up from the year before. The change in president took place under the parent ORACLE JAPAN HOLDING INC., which held 74.5% as of the fiscal year ended May 2016.
Initiatives
In the Tokyo Stock Exchange's market restructuring in April 2022, the company chose the Standard Market rather than the Prime Market. Revenue grew from ¥211.4 billion in the fiscal year ended May 2020, before he took office, to ¥263.5 billion in FY ended May 2025, operating income from ¥68.9 billion to ¥86.8 billion and net income from ¥47.7 billion to ¥60.7 billion. Revenue declined in his first year, FY ended May 2021, but from FY ended May 2022 both revenue and profit rose for four straight years.
