Background
He joined Keyence in April 2000. In June 2009, two months after Keyence formed a capital and business alliance with JustSystems in April that year, he was sent in as a Director, and he served as head of Business Planning from October 2010 and head of the Corporate Planning Office from July 2012. Keyence's stake was 43.96% in both the fiscal year ended March 2011 and FY ended March 2016, and it has consistently been the largest shareholder.

Consolidated revenue, ¥17.2 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2016 when he took office, grew to ¥51.5 billion in FY ended March 2026, and operating income from ¥5.0 billion to ¥22.5 billion. The growth was driven by the consumer business centered on the Smile Zemi tablet-based learning service, replacing a revenue mix that had relied on software sales to businesses. From FY ended March 2020 the operating margin stayed above 30%.
