Background
Born on May 3, 1969, he is a certified public accountant who joined the audit firm Tohmatsu in April 1992, not a career employee. In October 1999 he founded the management consultancy S-Networks Co., Ltd. and became its Representative Director and President, and he joined Taiyo Holdings as a Director in June 2008. He became Representative Director and Executive Vice President in April 2010 and Representative Director, President and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in April 2011. As of June 2025 he held 544,000 shares.
Selection
In April 2011 he became President and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Yuichi Kamayachi. The promotion came two years and ten months after he became a Director in June 2008, and he had less than three years inside the company after joining from outside. Compared with his successor Hitoshi Saito, who took 20 years from joining in September 1996 to become a Director in June 2016, it was exceptionally fast. In the fiscal year before he took office, ended March 2011, consolidated revenue was ¥40.4 billion and operating income ¥5.4 billion.
Initiatives
He reshaped a business mix heavily weighted toward electronic materials and personally led the new business companies. He became Representative Director and President of Taiyo Ink Mfg. in April 2014 and of Taiyo Green Energy that December, Representative Director and Chairman of Taiyo Pharma in August 2017, and Representative Director and President of Taiyo Pharma Tech in October 2019. In May 2022 he also became CEO of the Medical and Pharmaceuticals Company. Consolidated revenue grew from ¥39.8 billion in his first year, the fiscal year ended March 2012, to ¥119.0 billion in FY ended March 2025, his final year, with operating income reaching ¥22.1 billion.
