Background
He joined Bic Camera in March 1984. He advanced to Director and manager of the Ikebukuro flagship store in April 1996, Director and head of sales in June 2002, Senior Managing Director and head of merchandising in November 2004, and Representative Director and Senior Managing Director in March 2005, rising to the board through store operations and merchandising. In the FY ended August 2006 founder Ryuji Arai held 75.38% of the shares, and Hiroyuki Miyajima himself was not among the top ten shareholders.
