Background
In June 1974 he established Daito Sangyo Co., Ltd. (now Daito Trust Construction) and became its Representative Director and President. It was a newly established company with no predecessor or parent, and Tada was its first President. In April 1992 he also became Representative Director and President of Daisho Co., Ltd., a post he continued to hold concurrently.
Selection
He was the first President, with no predecessor, taking the post when the company was founded. He served as President from June 1974 to April 2004, became Chairman, and then returned to the presidency in October 2006 as Representative Director, Chairman and President. He returned after having handed the post to a successor, so the succession appears not to have been settled in a single step.
Initiatives
He changed the company name from Daito Sangyo to Daito Trust Construction. He made the land trust construction system, under which the company builds on landowners' sites and leases the buildings in bulk, its core business, and in the 1990s brought surrounding functions, from design and construction to tenant placement and management, in-house. Non-consolidated net sales grew from ¥2.2 billion in the fiscal year ended March 1982 to ¥151.2 billion in FY ended March 1991, and employees from 98 to 2,828.
