He joined Electric Power Development (J-POWER) in April 1984. He became Executive Officer in June 2015, Managing Executive Officer in June 2017, Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2019, and Director and Executive Vice President in April 2022. He was a career employee who spent all 39 years from joining to becoming president at J-POWER. He became an Executive Officer 31 years after joining, and reached Executive Vice President within eight years of entering management.

In June 2023 he succeeded Toshifumi Watanabe as Representative Director, President and Executive Officer. The promotion came one year and two months after he became Director and Executive Vice President. In the fiscal year ended March 2023, the year before he took over, consolidated net sales were ¥1,841.9 billion, operating income ¥183.9 billion and net income ¥113.7 billion, sales having risen 70% from ¥1,084.6 billion the previous year. The change moved up the Executive Vice President right after a year in which results had surged.
