Background
He joined Mitsui Fudosan in April 1983 and became Managing Executive Officer 32 years later, in April 2015. He joined the board as Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2020, became Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in April 2021, and was appointed President in April 2023. It took him two years and ten months from joining the board to become President, as short as the two years of his predecessor Masanobu Komoda.
Selection
He became President in April 2023, succeeding Masanobu Komoda. In the fiscal year ended March 2023, the year before he took office, consolidated revenue was ¥2,269.1 billion, operating income ¥305.4 billion and net income ¥196.9 billion, with operating income up more than ¥100 billion in two years from ¥203.8 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2021. It was not a change prompted by poor results but a promotion in his third year on the board.
