Background
He joined Andersen Consulting in September 1987, moved to IBM Japan in January 1996 and became an Executive Officer there in January 2009. He served as Senior Vice President of SAP Japan from April 2013 and President of Works Applications America from July 2016. After 31 years in the IT industry, he joined ASICS as an Executive Officer in June 2018 and became Senior Executive Officer and CDO in January 2020.

In January 2024 he succeeded Yasuhito Hirota as President and COO, becoming Representative Director, President and COO in March of that year. Hirota moved to Representative Director, Chairman and CEO in January, keeping the CEO role. In the fiscal year ended December 2023, the year before he took office, net sales were ¥570.5 billion and operating income ¥54.2 billion, up from ¥484.6 billion and ¥34.0 billion the previous year. He was appointed six years after joining ASICS, from the post of CDO in charge of the digital division.

In the fiscal year ended December 2024, his first year, net sales were ¥678.5 billion and operating income ¥100.1 billion, nearly doubling operating income from the previous year's ¥54.2 billion on sales of ¥570.5 billion. In the FY ended December 2025 net sales grew further to ¥810.9 billion and operating income to ¥142.5 billion. In February 2025 the company decided on a share buyback of up to ¥20 billion and the cancellation of 25 million shares (3.29% of shares outstanding), and in June of that year it established the general incorporated foundation ASICS Foundation.
